Pemikiran-pemikiran Environmental Ethics dalam Kesusastraan Sasana Jawa Kuno: Studi Eksploratif
Abstract
Achievement obtained in science and technology has been acknowledged that it has contributed so many things in terms of easiness and development. However, this development has causes the existence of dehumanization affecting entire world. There exists a problem of gaps between humans and humans and between humans and environment. Ethics in so far deals only with relationships amongst human beings, so that environment only depends on the kindness of human beings. In other words, ethics is still anthropocentric rather than nature or universal central approach in its application. Texts of Sasana in Old Javanese literature (Kawi) indeed contain ethical environment thoughts which need to be uncovered and reconstructed to become a system of environmental ethics that to be used to cope with increasing problems on environment. Ethical thoughts cover the concepts of Tri Kaya, Dasa Sila, Dasa Yama Brata, Dasa Niyama Brata, Tattwam Asi, etc. All of these are, really speaking, bases of yoga. When these thoughts can be formulated, then environmental ethics is none but an implementation of yoga in which two different poles can be kept in balance and synchronized.
